After our students told us they didn't feel safe in Central Park, we wanted them to take control and find ways to make things better for the local community.  We joined Peterborough Citizens (citizensuk.org) and students worked with Inspire education group, Gladca, Nene Park trust, Unison, St. John Fisher & Nene Park academy on a campaign to raise funds for additional lighting and CCTV cameras for the park. After 18 months of campaigning, we gathered together last night with decision makers from Peterborough City Council to celebrate our successful campaign! New solar stud lighting will soon be installed around the paths and 5 mobile CCTV cameras will be used across the city to tackle crime hotspots.

TDA are continuing to work with Citizens UK and our current campaigns centre around housing and homelessness, crime and safety and tackling racism in school.

If you are passionate about making a positive difference in your local community and would like to work on one of these campaigns please get in touch - kzj@tda.education
